Bass Lakes Texas Exotic Lake Weeds
When fishing our Texas bass fishing lakes, remember to be a good steward of our Texas private and public waters. What do we mean by “good steward”? Well, we mean; take care of our Texas bass lakes, by leaving them in good condition. Let me get specific:
- When you move from one lake to another, always make sure that you don’t carry any exotic lake weeds with you! Make sure that everything that went on, or into, or even near the water is free of anything that might want to start growing in the next lake.
- While on the subject of exotic weeds, please don’t even toy with the notion that transplanting one of these alien pests might ever be a good idea! Just because a little extra cover might make the fishing better, is no reason to transplant something that could kill the lake eventually. Hydrilla, and water hyacinth may provide great cover, that is, until they take over the lake, and make fishing impossible! If that is not a good enough reason, just remember that there is a fine of $500.00 per plant for transporting them!
- While your cleaning up your equipment, also make sure you don’t leave behind any trash, or other debris that might lessen the next guy’s fishing pleasure.
Just a little reminder to keep things right, it’s the Texas thing to do! Don’t mess with Texas lakes!
